We would like to provide a brief overview of the ongoing visit by the Tanzanian delegation to the Qatar Medicare International Exhibition, held from the 11th to 13th of November, 2025, in Doha.

The visiting delegation is headed by Ambassador Dr. Mpoki Ulisubisya, Executive Director of the Muhimbili Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Institute (MOI).

The delegation's active participation at this prestigious event provided invaluable opportunities for engagement and collaboration within the international medical community.

During the sidelines of the exhibition, our delegates seized the opportunity to visit State-of-the-Art Medical Hospital, namely Sidra Medicine, along with the Embassy staff, where we engaged in detailed discussions with representatives from International Medical Affairs, Global Patient Services, and the Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health departments. These discussions were pivotal in identifying areas of mutual interest and potential future partnerships.

Foremost among the issues addressed were the prospects for further collaboration between MOI under the auspices of the Muhimbili National Hospital and Sidra Medicine. Particular emphasis was placed on expediting the finalisation and signing of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between these institutions, as well as the MoU between the respective Ministries of Health of the United Republic of Tanzania and the State of Qatar. Progress in these areas is anticipated to significantly strengthen bilateral ties and enhance healthcare outcomes.

Furthermore, the delegation was informed of potential employment opportunities for nurses from Tanzania within Sidra Medicine, offering promising prospects for professional development and international experience for Tanzanian healthcare workers.

The Embassy remains optimistic that these engagements will foster enhanced cooperation and lead to fruitful outcomes in the near future.
