THE TANZANIA DIASPORA IN THE STATE OF QATAR AND ALL TANZANIAN STAKEHOLDERS
JOIN QATAR IN PROMOTING THE FIBA BASKETBALL WORLD CUP 2027 – MEET “SUHAIL”!
The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the State of Qatar is pleased to inform the Tanzania Diaspora and all Tanzanian stakeholders that the State of Qatar will host the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 from 27 August to 12 September 2027.
As part of preparations for this major international sporting event, Qatar has introduced “Suhail”, the official tournament mascot. Inspired by a renowned star in Qatari and Gulf heritage, Suhail represents the rich cultural heritage of the region and the unifying spirit of sport.
The Embassy therefore calls upon all members of the Tanzania Diaspora, Tanzanian associations, basketball clubs, sports enthusiasts, businesses and other stakeholders to join in supporting Qatar’s preparations by helping promote the tournament. In particular, everyone is encouraged to share the attached official image of Suhail and related promotional materials through their social media accounts, community networks and other communication platforms to increase public awareness and build excitement ahead of the championship.
As members of the Tanzanian community in Qatar, let us demonstrate our friendship, solidarity and support for the State of Qatar as it prepares to host this prestigious global sporting event.
Together, let us promote Qatar 2027 and celebrate the spirit of basketball!
