H.E. Habibu Awesi Mohamed, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the State of Qatar, held a high-level bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Ali G. Al-Hajri, Ambassador and Director of the African Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Doha. The discussions reaffirmed the strong and growing relations between the two countries, with a focus on expanding cooperation in key areas including investment and trade, health partnerships, education, labour and employment, and humanitarian initiatives, as well as enhancing collaboration in preparation for AFCON 2027.
Both sides highlighted increasing Qatari investment interest in Tanzania’s key sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and industrial development, alongside progress in labour cooperation and skills development. The meeting emphasized the importance of sustained engagement, effective implementation of joint initiatives, and strengthened coordination to translate commitments into tangible socio-economic benefits, while reinforcing longstanding cultural and people-to-people ties.
