H.E. Habibu Awesi Mohamed, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the State of Qatar, held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Dr. Asharaf Khodjaev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Qatar, at the Embassy of Tanzania in Doha. The meeting focused on deepening diplomatic engagement and promoting strategic cooperation across priority sectors.
Ambassador Khodjaev conveyed a congratulatory message from H.E. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan on the occasion of Tanzania’s Union Day. He also announced plans for an Uzbekistan Trade and Investment Mission to Tanzania in mid-2026, preceded by an advance delegation in May. Tanzania is among a select group of African countries identified for this initiative, targeting key sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, ICT, and tourism.
Ambassador Awesi welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed Tanzania’s readiness to facilitate the planned engagements in coordination with relevant authorities. He highlighted Tanzania’s investment opportunities and provided key materials to support prospective investors. Both sides expressed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing practical cooperation for mutual benefit.
