Tanzania is participating in the 14th Traditional Dhow Festival which will run from the 27th of November to 7th December, 2024, at the Katara Cultural Village. The festival is considered one of the most important heritage festivals organized by Qatar. This cultural demonstration host the participation of 10 friendly and sisterly countries, namely the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Palestine, Iraq, India, Tanzania, and Iran, along with Qatar as the host.
The Tanzanian Pavilion provides the public with an insight into its marine heritage. Every year Tanzania participates in the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival. We showcase traditional crafts from Zanzibar related to fishing and sea work, we also let them experience the Zanzibari culture by involving them in our cultural activities such as coconut grating, weaving, dancing and so on. Tanzania Pavilion witnesses a great turnout from different nationalities.
This year our Pavilion had the honor of being visited by H.E Amani Abeid Karume, Former President of Zanzibar and the Former First Lady of Zanzibar, H.E Shadia Karume.
