Following a recent meeting between the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism of the United Republic of Tanzania and H.E. Mr. Fahad Rashid Al Marekhi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tanzania and our follow-up meeting with Hon. Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga, Minister of Tourism and Heritage of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, the Embassy organized a courtesy call on H.E. Eng. Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism to discuss issues of mutual interest to keep up the momentum of the existing bilateral relations.
During the discussions, we extended invitations concerning the upcoming Swahili International Tourism Expo (SITE), 11th – 13th October 2024, and the Zanzibar Tourism and Investment Show, slated for 25th – 26th October 2024 respectively. Qatar Tourism has agreed to participate in the aforementioned international events in Tanzania.
We also underscored the importance of expediting the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) in Tourism and Business Events between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The signing ceremony of the two MoUs is expected to occur on the sidelines of the Qatar International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (Travel Mart) in November 2024 in Doha. Our participation in the forthcoming Qatar Trave Mart will enable us to among others,
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the Qatari destination market and identify the ongoing trends and anticipated growth in the next five years;
• Chance to promote exclusive deals and Tanzania as one of the best tourism destinations in Africa and promote cultural differences;
• Learn about new products and services in travel and tourism while meeting with key decision-makers from local and international tourism authorities;
• Heighten our brand awareness in the Qatari market and across the region;
• Network with potential entrepreneurs, delegates, and investors and acquire knowledge and innovative strategies from experts and leaders.
