The State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) of Tanzania and Qatar's Thirty-Five Investment Holding have agreed to strengthen cooperation in exploring investment opportunities within Tanzania's mining sector following productive discussions held in Doha. The talks were facilitated by the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the State of Qatar and involved officials from Tanzania's Ministry of Minerals and STAMICO.
During the discussions, STAMICO showcased Tanzania's vast mineral wealth and presented investment opportunities in mineral exploration, extraction, processing, and value addition, particularly in gold, copper, rare earth elements, and other strategic minerals. The Qatari side expressed strong interest in Tanzania's favorable investment climate, rich mineral resource base, and the opportunities available for strategic partnerships and joint ventures in the mining industry and supporting small scale mining operation in Tanzania.
Both parties committed to advancing discussions towards concrete investment projects through the exchange of technical information, follow-up meetings, and investment missions. The Embassy of Tanzania in Qatar welcomed the outcome of the talks, describing them as an important step towards strengthening Tanzania-Qatar cooperation in the mining sector, promoting investment, technology transfer, and sustainable economic growth for the benefit of both countries
