Doha, Qatar
The United Republic of Tanzania, through the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, has engaged JTA International Investment Holding of Qatar to explore strategic investment opportunities in energy, oil and gas, mining, tourism, aviation and maritime infrastructure. The engagement took place during the 9th World Investment Forum 2026 in Doha between H.E. Shariff A. Shariff, Minister for Investment of Zanzibar, and Dr. Amir Ali Salemi Zadeh, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of JTA International Investment Holding.
Discussions highlighted key investment opportunities, including the proposed Mangapwani multipurpose port, development of the Malindi terminal into a cruise tourism facility, establishment of a national airline through a potential public-private partnership, and development of high-end hotels, resorts and convention facilities. JTA expressed interest in further exploring these opportunities through a proposed investment mission to Tanzania and Zanzibar involving its energy, metals and tourism subsidiaries.
As a follow-up, both sides agreed to pursue technical consultations, exchange project proposals and facilitate potential site visits to advance the discussions. The investor was also invited to participate in the Minerals Investment Forum scheduled for November 2026 in Arusha. The engagement reflects Tanzania’s continued efforts to attract Qatari investment, strengthen public-private partnerships and accelerate strategic infrastructure and economic development, subject to further investment assessments.
